Ros Atkins Brings Rave Machine Back to Cornwall for First Homecoming Show
After making waves at Glastonbury this year, Rave Machine is heading back to Cornwall for the first time, led by one of its original hometown names.
Ros Brings Rave Machine Back to Cornwall
For the first time, Ros Atkins is bringing Rave Machine home to Cornwall, with the event set to take place at The Cornish Bank.
Ros grew up in Stithians and developed his love for hardcore and drum and bass by listening to cassette recordings from parties across the South West. Now a BBC News journalist and presenter, he returned to DJing after playing a Drum & Bass set for BBC 6 Music in 2022. He has since played at Glastonbury this year and last, making this his first Cornwall gig since 1999.
West Country Dance Music Royalty Joins the Line-up
Also on the bill is Tom Middleton, who also grew up in Cornwall. Tom became known for cross-genre electronic releases from the early 1990s rave era through to today, spanning ambient, house, techno, breakbeats and drum and bass.
He was a regular at legendary Cornish venues The Shire Horse and The Bowgie, playing alongside Aphex Twin, Luke Vibert and the Rephlex crew. Tom has gone on to perform worldwide, sharing stages with Snoop, Lady Gaga and Mark Ronson.
MCs with Deep Roots in the Scene
MC Ribbz will be joining Tom for an exclusive set. MC Ribbz is described as a legend of the West Country rave scene, with his voice providing the soundtrack to parties for more than thirty five years.
Also appearing is MC Chickaboo, a pioneer of the early jungle and drum and bass scenes. She hosted a packed Rave Machine at Glastonbury Festival this year and will be teaming up with Ros once again in Cornwall.
The event is billed as a high energy, all in party, with whistles and horns optional.
Tickets are available via Fixr.
