Police Concerned for Missing Woman Last Seen Near Hayle

Devon and Cornwall Police are appealing for information after a woman travelled to Cornwall and has not been seen since.

Concern for welfare

Devon & Cornwall Police say they are concerned for the welfare of Sheherazade Van Der Zijden, a 51 year old woman.

Sheherazade was last seen at her home address in Surrey on Thursday 15th January 2026.

Travel to Cornwall

Police believe Sheherazade travelled by train from London to Cornwall on Friday 16th January 2026.

Later that day, she boarded a First Cornwall Bus at Hayle Viaduct at 12:37pm. The bus arrived at North Cliffs at 1:05pm.

Personal effects found

Police have confirmed that Sheherazade’s personal effects were located near the cliff edge in the area. She has not been seen since.
