Omar Announces Truro Date on UK Grassroots Tour
British soul legend Omar Lye-fook MBE has announced a Truro date as part of a UK grassroots tour running across May and June 2026.
The Brighter The Days tour will see Omar return to intimate venues around the country, including a stop at Old Bakery on Saturday 23rd May.
Grassroots venues at the heart of the tour
The tour has been announced by Music Venue Trust, the charity that represents and supports grassroots music venues across the UK. It is backed by MVT’s Liveline Fund, which provides direct financial support to venues, touring artists and promoters.
Liveline is funded through contributions linked to arena and stadium ticket sales, with support from major artists including Sam Fender, Katy Perry, Enter Shikari and Coldplay.
Celebrating 40 years of recorded music
The Brighter The Days tour coincides with Omar marking 40 years as a recording artist. It also supports the release of his ninth studio album, Brighter The Days, which he has described as his magnum opus.
Across his four-decade career, Omar has collaborated with artists including Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, Angie Stone, Leon Ware, Robert Glasper, Paul Weller and India.Arie.
Truro date confirmed
Omar’s Truro performance takes place on Saturday 23rd May at Old Bakery, with the tour focusing exclusively on grassroots venues and local communities.
