Friday is expected to bring a mix of bright spells and cloud, with frequent blustery showers moving through the region.

Some of the showers are forecast to be heavy and could include hail. Over higher ground such as the moors, the showers may turn wintry. Temperatures are expected to feel particularly cold in the breeze, with a maximum of 8°C.

Chilly Night With Risk of Frost

Showers are set to continue into Friday evening, with some still locally heavy and carrying a risk of hail. Wintry conditions may again affect the moors.

Overnight, showers should gradually ease with clearer spells developing. Temperatures are forecast to fall to around 1°C, bringing the possibility of a touch of frost.

Saturday Brings Brighter Spells

Saturday is expected to be drier compared to Friday.

After a chilly start, sunnier spells are forecast, although a few showers remain possible, particularly in western areas. Winds should be generally light, with temperatures reaching around 10°C.
