Cornwall Coastal Walk Sparks Huge Surge in Interest

A sharp rise in online searches suggests growing interest in the newly announced King Charles III England Coast Path, with Cornwall playing a key role in that demand.

According to Parkdean resorts, searches for the ‘kings coastal path’ have increased by 1767% in the last week. Interest in the South West section has also climbed, with searches for the ‘South West coastal path’ rising by 181% over the past month and 48% in the last week.

Cornwall route highlighted for families

For those looking to explore part of the route in Cornwall, Parkdean has pointed to a section between Crantock Beach Holiday Park and Holywell Bay Holiday Park.

The walk covers around 4 miles and takes approximately one and a half hours to complete. Along the way, walkers can take in landmarks including Kelsey Head and the Field of Poppies.

Parkdean says the route offers a way for families to explore the coastline at their own pace while enjoying time outdoors.

What is the King Charles III England Coast Path?

The King Charles III England Coast Path was officially inaugurated on 19th March 2026 at Seven Sisters in East Sussex.

When complete, it will become the longest managed coastal path in the world, stretching around 2,700 miles and circling the entire coast of England. In many areas, people will also have the right to explore beaches and coastal margins alongside the trail.

The route connects coastal towns, cities and ports, linking well-known landmarks with lesser-known stretches of coastline, including areas that have not previously been accessible.

Work is still ongoing to complete the full path.

South West section largely open

The majority of the route between Aust, near the Severn Bridge, and Penzance is already open. However, a section between Clevedon and Weston-Super-Mare is still to be completed, with no current right of access along that stretch.

The trail begins at Old Passage in Aust and passes through a variety of landscapes, including views over the Severn Estuary, the Port of Bristol, and coastal areas such as Portishead and Clevedon.

Further along, the route continues through areas including Weston-super-Mare, Brean, Burnham-on-Sea and Bridgwater, before linking with the South West Coast Path at Minehead.

Walkers are advised to check tide times in certain locations, as parts of the route can be affected by high tides. Seasonal diversions may also be in place in some areas to protect birdlife.

Growing interest in coastal breaks

Parkdean highlighted that its locations provide access to six sections of the coastal path, including Northumberland, Lincolnshire, East Anglia, the South East, the South West Channel and the South West Atlantic.
