Treviglas Academy students celebrate a stand-out GCSE year

Envelopes were torn open across the grounds of Treviglas Academy this morning, and for one Year 11 student after another, months of revision turned into a page of grades worth celebrating. Another set of results has landed at the school, and by mid-morning the mood among the crowd gathered outside was pure relief and delight.

A morning of celebration

Students, families and staff gathered at the academy this morning to mark the occasion as pupils opened their results, the culmination of years of dedication, resilience and hard work across a wide range of subjects. It is the latest set of Year 11 students to benefit from what the school describes as a strong trajectory of academic improvement secured at Treviglas in recent years.

The Class of 2026’s top achievers

Among the cohort’s standout performers, Thom achieved four Grade 9s, one Grade 8, one Grade 7 and a Distinction*. Violet achieved four Grade 9s, two Grade 8s, two Grade 7s and a Distinction*. Darcey achieved six Grade 9s and two Grade 8s. Amelie achieved three Grade 9s, one Grade 8 and two Grade 7s. Taylor achieved three Grade 9s, one Grade 8 and a Distinction*, and Beck achieved five Grade 9s and three Grade 8s.

“Genuinely proud of every one”

James Rogers, Headteacher at Treviglas Academy, said he was proud of the whole cohort, for more than just the grades on the page.

“I am genuinely proud of each and every one of our students. Not only because of the results they have achieved, but as importantly, the wonderful human beings they have become. I have no doubt that they will all go on to achieve great things and give back to our fantastic community. Huge thanks go to the support from parents and families, as well as to the relentless hard work our staff have put in,” James said.

What’s next for the Class of 2026

The atmosphere across the school grounds was one of joy and celebration as students confirmed their next steps, with many opting to remain at Treviglas for Sixth Form study, alongside others moving on to further education courses and local apprenticeships.

The school’s leadership team extended their congratulations to the entire Class of 2026, noting that the results build directly on the culture of high ambition and community support at Treviglas Academy.
