No Boats To St Michael’s Mount This Sunday, Here’s What Happens

The tide is going to decide how you get to St Michael’s Mount this weekend, not the ferry timetable. Anyone with a ticket booked for St Michael’s Mount on Sunday 30 August needs to know the crossing is on foot only, and there’s a window either side of it worth checking before setting off.

Why the boats are staying tied up

Poor sea conditions mean the ferry boats will not be able to operate on Sunday 30 August. Access on and off the island will be on foot, between 11:25 and 15:00, across the causeway that links the Mount to Marazion at low tide.

What it means for your ticket

The last entry to the castle will be at 14:00. Anyone with a ticket booked for any time before 12:30, or after 14:00, is asked to arrive before that last entry slot instead.

If the change means a visit is no longer possible, tickets remain valid to use any day up to Friday 4 September, and there is no need to rebook or get in touch to arrange it. Any tickets that go unused will be refunded in full automatically.

The message from the Mount team is a familiar one for anyone who has watched the causeway disappear and reappear with the tide. St Michael’s Mount is a tidal island governed by the forces of nature, and sometimes those elements work against it. The team say they are sorry if this means anyone cannot visit, and hope to welcome people back onto the Mount soon.
