When and where

The race starts at 9.30am from Lemon Quay, with registration and number collection open from 8am. Race HQ is at Hall for Cornwall, also on Lemon Quay. There are no entries on the day, and registration for the event closes at midday on Saturday 12 September.

A route with a few hills in it

The half marathon is run almost entirely on road. It opens with a loop of central Truro before heading out to Porth Kea, Playing Place and Cowlands, taking in a handful of hills along the way. Truro Running Club, which organises the event, is upfront that it’s probably not a course for chasing a personal best.

The race is chip timed, with results based on gun time, and forms part of the 2026 Cornwall Grand Prix series. There are team prizes for the first six home from each affiliated club. The opening loop through the city centre and the finish are on closed roads, with the rest of the route on quieter rural roads, and around 50 marshals are out on the day to keep runners on track.

Anyone travelling in from further afield can make a weekend of it, with Trelissick parkrun taking place the morning before.

How to enter

Full details and sign-up are on the Truro Running Club website. There are no refunds if plans change, though places can be transferred to a friend or clubmate free of charge, or deferred to next year, up until 11.59pm on 11 September.

Free stalls for Truro businesses

Organisers are also offering free stalls to relevant city centre Truro businesses on the day, running from 8.30am to 1pm. Sports and fitness businesses such as sports retailers, physiotherapists, personal trainers, gyms and yoga studios are among those invited to take a gazebo and promote themselves to the crowds. Any interested business can get in touch with the event organisers at [email protected].

Lemon Quay’s regular market team are lending a hand too, providing gazebos and other market equipment for the day.
