Bude’s Upton Green completes, just three homes remain

A row of slate-hung houses above the fields on the edge of Bude is finished, and the builder is down to its last three keys.

Twenty-five homes, three left to sell

Legacy Properties has completed construction at Upton Green, its 25-home development on the edge of Bude. More than half of the open-market homes were reserved within weeks of launch, and the Cornish housebuilder now has just three left to sell.

The completion is also a wider landmark for the family-owned firm. Upton Green has delivered Legacy’s 250th home in Cornwall.

Upton Green is a mix of open-market and affordable homes, with the affordable element delivered in partnership with Westward Housing to support local housing need.

A front door onto the coast path

The development sits just 500 metres from the North Cornwall coastline, with direct footpath access into Bude town centre and its beaches. Residents can follow the canal route or the coastal path straight from their front door into town, with Summerleaze Beach, Bude Sea Pool and the South West Coast Path all within easy reach. Widemouth Bay and the wider North Cornwall coast are close by too.

The three remaining homes are four- and five-bedroom detached properties, priced from £525,000 and including a garage and private parking.

Mark Docherty, Sales Director at Legacy Properties, said the location has driven much of the interest.

Solar panels, heat pumps and a Miele kitchen

The homes at Upton Green were designed for energy-efficient living. Every property has an EPC-A rating, discreetly integrated solar PV panels, and an air-source heat pump feeding underfloor heating to the ground floor. EV charging points are included as standard.

Inside, the specification runs to British-built contemporary kitchens with stone worktops, integrated Miele appliances and wine coolers, Bluetooth ceiling speakers, oak internal doors, Karndean flooring and contemporary bathrooms.

Legacy’s pipeline beyond Bude

Legacy Properties was established in 2010 and is a family-owned, multi-award-winning housebuilder based near Newquay. The firm has now delivered more than 250 homes across Cornwall, with current live developments at Par, Pentewan Valley, Bude, Trispen and Goonhavern, and more than 200 further homes in its pipeline over the next three years.

For now, Upton Green comes down to three houses, a garage each, and a footpath that leads straight to the sea.
