Free pool and £3.65 pints as Falmouth After 5 returns

Most towns empty out at teatime. Falmouth would rather you stayed.

The evening campaign that asks people to make more of Falmouth after 5pm is back for a second year, and 19 venues have already signed up for the first night of the autumn. Think cheap pints, cocktail deals, free drinks with dinner, and at least one evening of painting pottery with a glass in hand.

First Fridays, once a month until March

At the heart of Falmouth After 5 is Falmouth’s First Fridays. The first one lands next Friday (2 October), and the event then returns on the first Friday of every month through to March 2027.

Each month the venues taking part put on a changing mix of special menus, exclusive deals, events and entertainment. The idea is simple. Meet friends after work, try somewhere you haven’t been before, or turn it into a whole night out.

The campaign leans on what the town already has, which is a long list of independent businesses. Characterful pubs, cocktail bars, family-friendly restaurants, live music spots and creative venues all sit within a short walk of each other.

Keren Cooksey, Falmouth BID Manager, said: “Falmouth After 5 is really about celebrating everything that makes our town such a great place to spend an evening, while supporting the brilliant independent businesses behind it.

“Last year we saw a fantastic response and this year we want to make it even easier for people to get involved. We already have 19 venues taking part in our October launch and our new interactive map means you can see what’s happening across town and plan your evening before you head out.

“Whether it’s a drink after work, dinner with friends, live music or simply trying somewhere you haven’t been before, First Fridays are a great excuse to get together and rediscover Falmouth after 5.”

The offers confirmed so far

These are the deals lined up for the October launch:

• The Seaview Inn: free pool from 5pm to 7pm.
• The Shed: any two drinks for the price of one from 5pm to 7pm.
• Catch & Cut: book between 5.30pm and 6pm and get 25% of your bill back as a voucher.
• Boathouse: fries and a pint or glass of wine for £8.
• The Games Room: 20p off all pints between 5pm and 7pm.
• The Grapes: pints of Guinness for £3.65.
• The Working Boat: one free house drink with a main course.
• Harry’s Taqueria: classic nachos and a pint of Corona for £12.50.
• Chain Locker: double spirits for £8 from 5pm to 10pm, kids eat free with an adult meal, plus £1 off selected branded drinks from 4pm to 7pm.
• Fives Cyderhouse: all pizzas £12.50, with selected pints and house doubles for £5.20.
• Kernowine: two small plates and a medium keg wine for £20.
• Windjammer: two of the same cocktails for £14.
• Harbour Lights: a free wine, beer or non-alcoholic drink with any meal.
• Kona: £4 Guinness, Korev and Inches, two selected cocktails for £14, and £5 house wine.
• The Poly: two cocktails for £15.
• The Globe Inn: a free soft drink with any Mix and Mash main.
• Dynamite Valley: 20% off cask ale pints between 5pm and 7pm.
• Starglazers: a special Ghibli pottery painting evening.
• Star & Garter: a seasonal small plate with a selected cocktail, glass of wine or 0.0% serve for £15 from 5pm.

New faces on the list

Some of this year’s venues are taking part for the first time.

We love being part of the local community and anything that encourages people to get out and enjoy Falmouth in the evenings is something we’re keen to support.”

There’s so much happening across the town in the evenings, and it’s a great way to encourage people to explore somewhere new, stay out a little longer and discover the brilliant independent places Falmouth has to offer.”

Planning your evening

A new Falmouth After 5 section on the Falmouth website includes an interactive map showing every participating venue and what each one has on, so you can plot a route before you leave the house. Updates are also posted on the @lovefalmouth Instagram account.

And the list above may not be the final one. More venues and offers are due to be announced before the launch on 2 October.
