Noah Lakeland clears a big hurdle with Bude RNLI lifeboat crew

When the pager goes off in Bude, there is now one more volunteer signed off for the tough jobs.

Crew member Noah Lakeland has officially passed his Tier 2 Operational Competency, Bude RNLI announced this week. The station said it was thrilled to share the news.

As part of the crew, Noah is always ready to launch the D class lifeboat when a call comes in.

What Tier 2 means for Bude

The qualification certifies Noah to operate in demanding, high-risk rescue scenarios. According to the station, that means advanced skills brought directly to the coastline when they are needed most.

Bude Lifeboats summed it up simply. The coastal community, they said, is safer than ever.

What it means for the crew

The station also pointed to the benefit inside the boat. Every milestone its volunteers reach means a stronger team and better safety on the water, helping the RNLI crew carry out rescues as effectively as possible.

The aim, as Bude Lifeboats put it, is bringing both casualties and crew home safely.

Hours of training

The milestone follows a long run of training. The station said Noah’s dedication, hard work and hours of practice had paid off.

“We could not be prouder to have you on the team,” Bude Lifeboats said, inviting supporters to leave some love for Noah in the comments.
