Cornish Pirates players to become regulars at The Point, Polzeath
The padel courts, gym and sauna at a North Cornwall resort are about to gain some rather large new regulars.
The Cornish Pirates have named The Point at Polzeath as the club’s latest Preferred Accommodation Partner. And the arrangement goes beyond beds for the night. Pirates players will be regular visitors to the site, using its leisure facilities and health club during their time off.

What the players will be using
The Point, which sits just outside Polzeath, has padel, golf, tennis, a gym, a pool and a sauna, along with a bar and restaurant.
Ross Hancock, Head of Commercial at the Cornish Pirates, said the squad had already taken to the place.
“We’re delighted to be working with The Point and further spread ourselves throughout the county, with brilliant facilities to enjoy for our supporters and visiting fans,” said Ross.
“Our players also love the facility and were blown away by what was on offer and will be making the most of it during their down time.”
A family-run base for supporters and visiting fans
The Point is a family-run business with apartments and holiday cottages, which the club describes as a base for exploring North Cornwall, its beaches and its restaurants.
The Pirates say rates are being offered on stays during the rugby season.
‘Real similarities’ between the two
Tom O’Donnell, Managing Director at The Point, said the two organisations have plenty in common.
“We are thrilled to be working with the Cornish Pirates. There are real similarities between our two organisations: a commitment to quality, a determination to keep improving and a willingness to invest and work hard to achieve our ambitions,” said Tom.
“We have huge respect for what the Pirates are building and are very pleased to support them. We wish the players, coaches and everyone behind the club every success for the season ahead and look forward to welcoming them and their supporters to The Point.”
