£6,000 Boost Brings Final Piece to St Ives Theatre Upgrade
A Cornish holiday letting agency has helped complete the final stage of a major transformation at St Ives Theatre with a £6,000 donation towards new seating.
Aspects Holidays contributed the funding to support the installation of new stalls seating at the refurbished venue, which re-opened a year ago following a 14-month regeneration.

Final stage of £1.6 million transformation
St Ives Theatre, home to the award-winning youth theatre company Kidz R Us, has undergone a £1.6 million refurbishment funded by a grant from the St Ives Town Deal Fund.
The work brought a range of improvements, including a modernised auditorium, café-bar and improved energy efficiency. However, additional fundraising was still needed to complete the installation of seating in the 312-seat venue.
The £6,000 donation from Aspects Holidays helped unlock match funding, allowing the final phase to go ahead.
The newly installed seating features cushioned red seats designed to improve comfort for audiences while adding a striking finishing touch to the theatre.
Support for community and culture
Gemma Taylor, Communications & PR Manager at Aspects Holidays, said:
“We are delighted to support St Ives Theatre and the incredible work of Kidz R Us. The theatre is such an important part of the local community, and many of our team have personal connections through family and friends involved in the productions.
“Being able to contribute towards the final stage of the refurbishment and help bring the project to completion is something we’re very proud of.”
The company’s support reflects its ongoing commitment to local communities and cultural organisations. Aspects Holidays also has a long-standing relationship with Kidz R Us, having previously supported productions including its pantomimes.
A theatre with nearly three decades of history
The refurbishment marks a new chapter for St Ives Theatre, which has been part of the local arts scene for nearly 30 years. Over that time, it has staged more than 1,500 performances to audiences of over 400,000 people.
Theatre Manager Tom Richards said:
“We are very grateful to Aspects Holidays and all the local businesses who have supported us. Their generosity has helped us complete the final stage of our refurbishment, ensuring audiences can enjoy performances in comfort for years to come. These new seats are the perfect finishing touch to what is now a truly transformed theatre.”
