Bounce Dance Academy Marks 20 Years with Show at The Regal Theatre
Twenty years is a long time in any business, let alone one that depends on tiny ballet shoes and teenage nerves holding together on opening night. Bounce Dance Academy hit that milestone last weekend, and they marked it with a show that pulled two decades of memories onto one stage.

A Trip Back to 2008
The annual production at The Regal Theatre, titled ’20 Years of Bounce’, revisited iconic performances from the academy’s history. Each section opened with a video montage taking audiences back through the years, starting with footage from 2008 when the very first show was staged. The performances then carried forward through the students’ milestones and achievements, running up to 2020.
For parents in the audience, it was a chance to see how far their children had come. For the academy, it was a chance to look at how much it had changed.
191 Students, Ages 4 to 22
The cast was a big one. 191 students took part, ranging from four years old up to 22, covering the full spread of genres taught at the school. Bounce runs classes in ballet, street dance, lyrical, contemporary, pointe work, pre-school, acro and tap across its Wadebridge and Newquay studios.
Over the past 20 years, thousands of students have passed through the academy’s doors.
A Message from the Director
After the show, company director Rachel Pearse thanked everyone who had played a part.
“I am so grateful to everyone who made this show possible. To the incredible staff, your unwavering commitment, passion, and dedication have been the reason behind everything we’ve achieved. To the wonderful helpers on the day, your support is invaluable. To all the families who have supported us over the past 20 years, your belief in us has been everything. I am so proud and grateful, and as we look ahead, I am so excited for the next 20 years!” Rachel said.
