Bodmin Driver Jailed After Being Arrested Twice in One Week
A Bodmin man has been sentenced to 12 months in prison after a string of dangerous driving offences that saw him arrested twice within the space of a week.
Christopher Emmins, of Bodmin, was convicted on 14th April 2026 for failing to stop for police, dangerous driving, drink driving, and driving whilst disqualified. He has also been banned from driving for 5 years, 5 months and 28 days, and ordered to pay a fine and costs.
The offences stem from two separate police pursuits. The first took place on 5th April, when Christopher was stopped and arrested after failing to pull over for officers. Despite being bailed by the court following that incident, he was involved in a second pursuit just six days later on 11th April, again failing to stop for police before being caught and arrested.
He was remanded in custody and appeared before the court on 14th April, where he was convicted and sentenced.
Bodmin Police confirmed the outcome, describing it as good news and noting that a dangerous driver had been taken off the roads.
