Bodmin Tidy It Team Adds to Running Total with Latest Clean-Up

460 Bags and Counting: Bodmin Team’s Latest Clean-Up

A group of volunteers in Bodmin spent time in the sunshine carrying out another litter pick, collecting dozens of bags of waste and adding to a growing total that is now hard to ignore.

Another Big Turnout

The Bodmin Tidy It Team started their latest clean-up from Asda, with volunteers coming together to tackle litter across the area. By the end of the session, the group had collected 17 bags of rubbish and 15 bags of recycling, along with a large pile of fly-tipped items.

This latest effort brings the team’s running total to 460 bags collected.

Community Support Recognised

At the end of the clean-up, volunteers were given Easter eggs by Will Paris, Social Value Officer for Biffa, as a thank you for their efforts.

Support also came from members of the public and local businesses. One passer-by provided bottles of water and mini doughnuts for the team, while Malcolm Barnecutt’s Bakeries Ltd supplied drinks to two of the volunteers.

Volunteers Thanked

Those taking part in the clean-up included Debs, Andy, Anne, Steve, Gary, Ash, Paul, Andy, Linda, Trish, Sue, Jeremy, Donna, Jo, Max and Nigel. Donna joined the group for the first time.

Thanks were also given to Biffa and Clean Cornwall for their support.

Next Clean-Up Date

The group has already confirmed its next meeting, which will take place on Wednesday 15th April at 9.45am. Volunteers are set to meet towards the end of the lowest road of the Hillside Estate.
