Bodmin Tidy it Team Collects 596 Bags and Counting

Bodmin’s Litter Total Is Creeping Towards a Big Milestone

There’s a number this group of volunteers has been quietly climbing towards, and they’re almost there.

The Bodmin Tidy it Team had a strong turnout of new faces at their latest morning litter pick, with several volunteers joining for the first time.

Sandy, Jenny and Linda, all members of Inner Wheel Club Bodmin, came along wanting to do something a bit different in the community. They were joined by first timers Karen, Gordon and Tanya. All of them said they were keen to come again.

The session saw the team collect 14 bags of rubbish and 8 bags of recycling, along with other items. That pushes their running total to 596 bags.

A weekend effort too

It wasn’t only the group session that added to the count. Over the weekend, Andy D went out solo, picking rubbish from Westheath Avenue down to the Sainsbury’s turning. He came back with 3 bags of rubbish and 1 bag of recycling.

The team thanked their full roster of regular volunteers: Anne, Steve, Sue, Gary, Tanya, Karen, Gordon, Sandy, Penny, Linda, Sue, Debs, Andy, Jackki, Linda, Andy, Lindsay and Paul, along with Biffa and Clean Cornwall.

The next meet up is on Wednesday, 27th May. Volunteers will gather in the car park at Sainsbury’s at 9.45am. Everyone is welcome.
