According to police, there was a child in the front seat, apparently on the way to school. Officers described the behaviour as “shocking”.

The driver is expected to receive paperwork relating to the offence, likely in the form of a fine and penalty points on their licence.

Police reminded motorists that excess speed is one of the ‘Fatal 5’ contributing factors to serious and sometimes fatal collisions throughout the year.
