Bosun Bob the Sea Dog Is Coming to Three Cornwall Bookshops
A salty old sea dog who learned to sail before he learned to sit is about to drop anchor in Cornwall, and three local bookshops are rolling out the welcome mat for him.
Children’s author Erin Allgrove, creator of the Bosun Bob series, is bringing her storytelling events to West Looe, Truro and Helston this spring. The sessions are aimed at children aged 3 and over, and combine lively story time readings with hands-on nautical craft activities designed to bring Bosun Bob’s adventures to life.
Who is Bosun Bob?
The Bosun Bob series is inspired by Erin’s real-life experiences sailing aboard her yacht with her family and dog, Bob. Written in playful rhyming prose and brought to life with rich illustrations, the books follow the adventures of a salty old sea dog navigating life on the ocean. Titles in the series so far include Bosun Bob the Salty Old Sea Dog and Bosun Bob and the Cat With No Name.
Erin, who is based in Devon, is the founder of Langrove Publishing and says she is passionate about encouraging children’s literacy and creativity. Her interactive events pair storytelling with imaginative activities, with the aim of helping children engage with books in a fun and memorable way.
“It’s so exciting to see Bosun Bob growing in popularity! Readers all over the UK are loving the books and I’m delighted to be meeting readers this Spring close to home, especially during this very special ‘Year of Reading,'” she said.
