Lansdown Road to close as next phase of Bude gas works nears
January is set to look a little different for drivers in Bude. One road shuts for more than five weeks, another gets temporary lights, and there is a day set aside next week to ask about it all.
Wales & West Utilities is holding a public drop-in session for residents and businesses in Bude ahead of the next phase of gas upgrade works, which is due to start in January 2027.
The session was shared by Bude-Stratton Town Council.

When and where is the drop-in?
The drop-in takes place next Wednesday (11 November), from 10am to 5pm, in Room 4 at The Parkhouse Centre in Bude.
Businesses and residents are welcome to call in, find out more about the works and talk through any questions or concerns directly with Wales & West Utilities.
What traffic changes are planned?
Two sets of traffic arrangements are planned for the works:
- Lansdown Road: closed from Monday 4 January to Friday 12 February 2027
- The Strand: temporary traffic lights from Monday 18 January to Friday 12 February 2027
That leaves almost four weeks where both are in place at the same time.
Wales & West Utilities says the dates are subject to change.
