Two New Coastguard Officers Join Bude Team Ahead of Busy Season

The Bude Coastguard Rescue Team has welcomed two new Coastguard Rescue Officers as the team prepares for a busier period along the coast.

Rob and Liam have both recently qualified after completing their new entry training over the past three months. They now join the Bude team as call outs are expected to increase heading into the busier season ahead.

Three Months of Training

Their training covered a wide range of operational skills required for the role. This included emergency first aid, rope rescue, water rescue, and lost and missing person search training, along with other core operational skills.

After completing the programme, both officers are now ready to begin responding to incidents as part of the Bude Coastguard Rescue Team.

Joining at a Key Time

The team said the pair are joining at the perfect time as demand for coastguard support typically rises in the months ahead.

Rob and Liam will now begin their service on the coast, supported by the rest of the Bude Coastguard Rescue Team as they take part in future call outs.
