Two Callington firefighters pass Breathing Apparatus course

There’s a particular qualification that lets a firefighter head straight into the worst part of an incident, and two crew members at Callington Community Fire Station have just earned it.

Callum and Jack have passed their Breathing Apparatus (BA) course. The station has called it a milestone achievement that demands dedication, physical stamina and mental sharpness.

What the qualification means in practice

Passing the BA course means Callum and Jack are now fully qualified to wear BA operationally at live incidents. They will work alongside another firefighter for support, and can head directly into challenging environments to save lives and protect the community.

Callington Community Fire Station welcomed the pair to the BA team and congratulated them on the result.
