Camborne BID Launches Campaign to Promote Positivity in Camborne

There’s plenty to celebrate in Camborne, according to a new campaign from the town’s Business Improvement District (BID) team.

Promoting Pride in Camborne

‘Positively Camborne’ has been launched to highlight the town’s strengths and community spirit. The campaign follows on from the BID team’s successful Fun Fridays and Summer of Marvellous Marvels events, which featured appearances by Blue Aussie Pup, crafty workshops, live music and even a magic potion workshop.

BID Camborne Manager Anna Pascoe said:

“It’s fair to say that Camborne has suffered from some very negative press in recent years and we’re determined to counteract that because, in truth, there’s so much good to shout about.

We’re a close community and, in my view, an authentic one. Tourism isn’t our bread and butter as it is for many towns in Cornwall, and we work hard to support each other as much as we possibly can.”

Improvements and Optimism

Anna explained that Town Deal grants are helping local businesses improve their premises, while new signage, street art and cycling routes are brightening up the town.

“Our summer entertainments garnered some lovely comments on social media and we’re now beavering away on a Christmas events line-up that we hope will be memorable.

We have some wonderful independent traders offering a range of goods and services you’ll never find anywhere else, and we’re dogged in our determination to give everyone who visits a warm, Camborne welcome.”

Building a Safer, Stronger Community

Anna also highlighted the impact of BID:BIS, the Camborne Business Intelligence Scheme launched last year.

“BID:BIS is making a significant impact in reducing local crime and, despite some obvious challenges, there’s a general sense of genuine optimism and excitement about all that is to come.

That’s what we’re trying to reflect in our Positively Camborne campaign and why I’m personally so proud of my hometown, its heritage and, most of all, its people.”
