Trelowarren Street Progress
Since Christmas, most activity has centred on Trelowarren Street in Camborne. The new cobbled ramp outside Tyacks Pub is now finished and has reopened to traffic.
Footway improvements are still ongoing in this area, including tactile crossings and new block paving. These works are expected to continue until mid February.
Town Centre Works Continue
In the town centre, work outside Philps Pasties is progressing on the northern side. This includes the construction of a new kerb build out alongside drainage upgrades.
Chapel Street and Temporary Closures
Construction has now started on Chapel Street, outside the Apollo Bingo Hall. This phase includes new granite kerbed parking bays and a new footway on the northern side of the street.
To allow this work to take place, there will be temporary closures on Gurney’s Lane and Gas Street at times. Signed diversions will be in place, with traffic marshals on hand to support the community.

Junction Works From 16th February
From 16th February 2026, work is due to begin at the Trelowarren Street and Fore Street junction. Over a period of around four weeks, a new crossing point will be built and granite paving installed.
A short term road closure will be required at the junction while this work is carried out. Efforts will be made to keep disruption to a minimum, with marshals present to assist.
Weather Challenges
Despite the exceptional weather conditions currently being experienced, the project is reported to be progressing well, with teams continuing to work to keep the programme on track.
