Camborne Brass reaches £10,000 target within a day

It took less than a day for Camborne to answer the call. Camborne Brass set out to raise £10,000 to help the band recover from a break-in at its bandroom, and by the time the target was announced as met, the donations were still landing.

A target hit overnight

The band launched a Crowdfunder to help pay for repairs and improvements to its bandroom following the break-in, and to strengthen security so the space stays safe for members and the wider community. Within less than 24 hours, the £10,000 goal had been reached.

Camborne Brass says it was overwhelmed by the response, thanking everyone who donated, shared the campaign or helped spread the word, and singling out the support shown by the community, friends, family, fellow bands and supporters.

Repairs, security and a safer bandroom

The money raised will go towards repairing and improving the bandroom, strengthening security on the building and making sure the band, based in Camborne, can keep offering a safe home for its members and the community around it.

The campaign isn’t over

Hitting the target hasn’t closed the door on further support. With 83 days left to run at the time of the announcement, the band says people can keep donating throughout the campaign, and that every extra pound raised will continue to fund the bandroom repairs and security work. Anyone wanting to add to the total can do so through the Camborne Brass Crowdfunder page.

A charity concert to go with it

Camborne Brass is also inviting supporters to a charity concert on Sunday 4 October 2026, from 3pm, at The Star Inn in Vogue, St Day. The afternoon will feature live music from Camborne Brass and special guests, with tickets priced at £5 per person.

The band is billing it as a chance for families and friends to come together for an afternoon of live music, community and support, on top of everything already raised.

“Your Band. Your Community. Your Support,” the band wrote as it shared the news. “Together, we can get our bandroom back, so the Band can play on.”
