Camborne Green Fest Postponed After 50mph Wind Forecast
The forecast has done exactly what organisers had been hoping it wouldn’t.
Camborne Green Fest, which was due to fill the town’s Recreation Ground this Saturday (6 June), has been postponed after forecasters predicted wind gusts of more than 50mph.

Why the call was made
Camborne Town Council said it had been watching the forecasts with optimism over recent weeks, but conditions worsened over the last few days, leaving organisers to make the decision today, ahead of the site set-up. The council said it was very disappointed to have to postpone.
Cllr Chapman, the Mayor of Camborne, said: “While we are very disappointed to have had to take this decision, we hope all will understand that the safety of everyone involved must always come first at our events. We are delighted that a new date has been identified, allowing Green Fest to take place later in the year, hopefully in more favourable conditions.”
When it will now happen
Green Fest will now take place on Saturday 12 September.
The free family festival was set to run from 11am to 5pm at the Recreation Ground, returning for its fourth year as part of Great Big Green Week, with live music and stalls from local charities and environmental groups.
The council apologised to everyone who had been looking forward to Saturday, saying it hoped people would be able to enjoy a sunny Green Fest in September.
