Camborne Head Girl Vows to Shave Her Head if Cornwall Hits £7,500

A head shave is not how most people picture a charity milestone. For one Camborne Head Girl, it is exactly what she is daring herself towards, and she admits the thought terrifies her.

The Head Girl at Cornwall School of Maths and Science (CSMS) in Camborne, part of Athena Learning Trust, has pledged to shave off all her hair if she raises £7,500 for The Little Princess Trust.

Her name is Hattie, and this is not the first time she has put her hair towards the cause. Ten years ago she donated her hair and raised £1,000 for the same charity.

“If we manage to raise £7,500, I will shave my head,” Hattie said. “This terrifies me, but I really hope to raise as much money as possible.”

What the money goes towards

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their hair through cancer treatment and other conditions. It also funds childhood cancer research.

The charity supports children and young people experiencing hair loss, helping to restore confidence and identity at a difficult time for families across the UK.

A proud school behind her

Emma Haase, Principal of CSMS, part of Camborne Sixth Form Academy, praised the challenge.

“We are incredibly proud of Hattie’s determination, courage and generosity in taking on this challenge,” Emma said. “Her commitment to supporting The Little Princess Trust is inspiring, and reflects real compassion and character. We know she will receive strong support from the school community.”
