Camborne property shut to visitors for another three months

A Camborne address that had already been placed under a partial closure order has now had that order extended, after the person living there let visitors in and broke the terms of the original.

The breach that triggered the extension

Camborne, Pool and Redruth Police say the occupant breached the initial partial closure order by having visitors to the property. That breach was enough to send officers back to court to ask for more time.

PC Care and the team’s anti-social behaviour officer, Kay Smith, worked to secure a further extension. The property will now be closed to visitors for another three months. Police say the order is aimed at eliminating the anti-social behaviour linked to the address, and that they can prosecute if it is breached again.

A lunchtime walk through the town

The closure order was not the only thing keeping officers busy. PC Care and PS McKinnon were out in Camborne town around lunchtime on Tuesday, checking the areas usually associated with anti-social behaviour and street drinking.

Their report on how those spots were looking came with a caveat. As the team put it, the usual hotspots were looking “Q”, stopping just short of the full word. There is a long-standing superstition in the emergency services about saying “quiet”, the theory being that the moment you do, the calls start coming in and you are anything but.

Other officers from the team were due out later in the day. For now, the message from Camborne, Pool and Redruth Police was a simple one: have a good evening.
