Sports hall floors are not built for celebrating, but that did not stop the hugging, the phone photos and the odd tear this morning as GCSE results were handed out at Camborne Science and International Academy in Camborne. Behind the noise sat a set of results the school has not produced before, with sharp rises in every headline measure.

Learning to be extraordinary, beyond the exam hall

Results day capped off a year that reached well past the classroom. Students took part in international exchanges to Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Canada and Iceland, while the school marked its 70th anniversary with a community project called Growing Together. New sustainability initiatives, including an in-house catering service and a food garden project, culminated in a Community Feast that brought together local producers, families and the wider community to celebrate Cornwall’s food culture and locally sourced ingredients.

The school also had record-breaking performances in the Ten Tors Challenge and equestrian success at Hickstead over the course of the year.

What the Principal said

Emma Haase, Principal of Camborne Science and International Academy, praised the achievement. “I am incredibly proud of every one of our students and everything they have achieved. These results are the culmination of months of hard work, resilience and determination, and reflect the commitment our young people have shown throughout their time at CSIA. They also recognise the dedication of our staff and the invaluable support of families, who have encouraged our students every step of the way.”

“Whether our students are continuing their studies with us at Camborne Sixth Form, moving on to college, apprenticeships or other exciting opportunities, they should leave today with a real sense of pride in all they have accomplished. We wish them every success as they take their next steps.”
