Oddfellows fill The Tyacks in Camborne for Sunday lunch
A round of ‘Happy Birthday’ was not on the printed menu at The Tyacks Hotel, but it turned out to be the highlight of the afternoon.
Members of the West Cornwall Oddfellows Friendly Society gathered at the Camborne hotel for another well-attended Sunday lunch, an afternoon built around good food, familiar faces and the kind of easy conversation that keeps people coming back.

The lunch drew members and guests from across the district, who worked their way through a varied menu while catching up with friends. It is a regular fixture for the Society, and the turnout suggested the format is working.
The afternoon took a warmer turn when word went round that longstanding member Ken was marking his birthday. Fellow diners surprised him with a rousing rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’, and the room happily joined in.
Thanks went to Janice, whose organisation kept the day running smoothly and helped make it another success.
More lunches to come
Social events like these give members a chance to meet new people, keep old friendships going and feel part of the local Oddfellows community. Further lunches and activities are planned over the coming months, and new members and guests are always welcome to come along and see what it is about for themselves.
