Artists, Blacksmiths, and Metal Workers Wanted: £3,000 Commission to Create Unique Gas Brazier for Cornwall Heritage Trust’s 40th Anniversary
Cornwall Heritage Trust is inviting artists, blacksmiths, and metal workers to participate in an exciting opportunity as they prepare to mark their 40th anniversary in 2025. The Trust is commissioning a unique gas brazier, which will play a central role in a series of beacon lighting events across its sixteen sites during spring 2025.
Celebrating 40 Years
The significant milestone will be celebrated on 2nd April 2025, with the commissioned brazier being an essential feature of the planned celebrations. The project comes with a commission of £3,000, which is inclusive of all materials, expenses, and VAT. The completed brazier must be ready by 1st March 2025 for the first anniversary event.
Commission Details
Applicants should take note of the following requirements for the project:
- Design Requirements: The brazier must be gas-supplied, portable, and designed for both handheld use (resembling an Olympic torch) and to be free-standing on uneven ground.
- Reflective of the Trust: The design must embody both the Trust’s identity and the importance of its 40th anniversary.
- Collaboration: Design input and feedback from the Cornwall Heritage Trust team will be a crucial part of the development process.
- Payment Structure: The payment will be provided in stages: 50% upfront, 30% after interim design approval, and the final 20% upon completion and delivery.
