Giant Inflatable Bowel Visiting Cornwall To Raise Awareness

People in Cornwall are being invited to step inside a giant inflatable bowel this week as part of a campaign to raise awareness of bowel cancer and its symptoms.

Bowel Cancer UK is bringing its 2026 UK roadshow tour to the county, offering an interactive experience designed to get people talking about bowel health and the importance of screening.

What To Expect

The giant inflatable bowel measures 19 feet by seven feet and allows visitors to walk through and see the different stages of bowel cancer. The aim is to help people understand the symptoms, the importance of taking part in screening if eligible, and how to look after their bowel health.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to speak to Bowel Cancer UK’s staff and volunteers. The charity says it is a chance to ask questions or share any worries about bowel cancer, whether about themselves, a loved one or a friend.

No appointment is needed and people can simply drop in.

The awareness roadshow will take place at the following locations:

• Tuesday 3rd March, 10am to 4pm
  Commercial Square, Commercial Street, Camborne, TR14 8DZ

• Wednesday 4th March, 10am to 4pm
  Morrisons, Pool, Redruth, TR15 3NH

• Thursday 5th March, 10am to 4pm
  Commercial Square, Commercial Street, Camborne, TR14 8DZ

The Key Symptoms To Know

Bowel Cancer UK highlights the following symptoms of bowel cancer:

• Bleeding from your bottom

• Blood in your poo

• A change in your pooing habits. You might be going more or less often, or have diarrhoea or constipation that might come and go

• Losing weight but you’re not sure why

• Feeling very tired all the time but you’re not sure why

• A pain or lump in your tummy

The charity encourages anyone who notices signs to contact their GP.
