Gemma’s Running Journey Gathers Pace

Gemma Wotherspoon is on a mission. With 98 race medals already earned, she’s eyeing up her 100th at the Indian Queens Half Marathon, while also raising thousands for the Cornwall Air Ambulance.

Currently training on the Camel Trail, Gemma has reached 17 miles in her long-distance runs. She’s steadily increasing the distance by a mile every couple of sessions as she gets ready for the Cornish Marathon, followed by the Brighton Marathon. So far, she’s raised £2,012 for the Cornish race and hopes to bring in another £1,000 for Brighton, aiming for a total of £3,000.

Ten Tors Triumph

On 18th May, Gemma and her running friend Nicola took on the Ten Tors challenge. The pair first met at a race about a year ago and reunited for the demanding event, which they completed in under four hours. It was a tough course – hot and hilly – but they finished strong, with Nicola also raising funds for the Cornwall Air Ambulance during the challenge.

Bingo Nights and Lucky Dips

Gemma’s not just running — she’s also rolling out a series of fundraising events.

First up is Bingo at the Beat, taking place this Thursday 5th June. Doors open at 7pm and eyes down at 7.30pm. Attendees can enjoy drinks, quality prizes, a 50/50 flyer, and a raffle. This Saturday 7th June, Gemma will also be holding a collection and lucky dips session for the Cornwall Air Ambulance from 9am to midday. Lucky dips are just £1 each.
