Three Cornwall Specialist Schools Join Reach South This Month

Three specialist schools in Cornwall have a new trust above the door, and the change could shape how some of the county’s most vulnerable pupils are taught for years to come.

Ace WRAP Bodmin, Ace WRAP Launceston and Ace WRAP Redruth have officially joined Reach South Academy Trust this month, moving across from Transforming Futures Trust after what both organisations describe as a period of close collaboration.

What the schools do

The three provisions support pupils with complex needs through specialist, alternative and nurture-based education. They work with children and young people who often need something different from a mainstream classroom, and the staff in these settings deal with cases that require careful handling and patience.

That work continues. What changes is the trust running them.

Who Reach South are

Reach South Academy Trust is a family of schools based across the South West. The trust says its core values are aspiration, resilience, excellence and integrity, and that social mobility and social justice drive its approach. Its stated aim is to equip leaders so schools sit at the centre of their communities and provide pathways to success for every pupil.

Adding the three Cornish provisions strengthens the trust’s reach into specialist education in the county.

What the CEO said

The trust says it is looking forward to working closely with staff, pupils and families across the newly joined schools as they begin the next chapter as part of the Reach South community.
