Redruth and Truro Oddfellows Hold Cornwall-Themed Quiz Afternoon
You think you know Cornwall? The members of two local friendship groups put that very question to themselves this month, and the results came with chocolate.
The Oddfellows Friendship Groups in Redruth and Truro met up in May for an afternoon of quizzing, chatting and a little gentle competition. The format had a creative twist to it. Members were shown photographs and asked to identify well-known Cornish locations, then moved on to anagrams and quiz questions that got everyone thinking.

Chocolate on the Line
Each round winner walked away with a chocolate bar, which kept the friendly rivalry going nicely. But the quiz itself was only part of the appeal. Conversation flowed throughout, with members swapping memories and stories as they worked through the questions.
Once the answers were in, everyone settled down to tea, coffee, cakes, chocolate biscuits and fresh fruit.
More Than Just a Quiz
The afternoon also gave organisers a chance to run through a short welfare update and remind members about the benefits available to them. These include dental and optical support grants, a dedicated advice line, and welfare support.
A prize raffle raised funds for local charitable causes, and members had the chance to dip into the free book club and pick up the take-home puzzle sheets that always go down well.
