Cornwall Air Ambulance Heli Hike Raises Surprise Five-Figure Sum

A brand new charity walk has just delivered a serious boost to one of Cornwall’s most relied-upon emergency services, and the final figure has turned a few heads.

Cornwall Air Ambulance has confirmed that its first ever Heli Hike raised more than £23,000 for the charity. Every step taken on the route contributed to the total, which will go directly towards keeping the crew in the air and providing critical care 365 days a year.

A strong start for a new event

The Heli Hike was a debut event for the charity, and the five-figure result suggests it could become a fixture in the Cornwall fundraising calendar. The money raised helps fund the day-to-day cost of running the service, which responds to the most serious medical emergencies across the county.

The event was backed by sponsors bott UK and M & M Plant – Devon & Cornwall. Rapid Relief Team UK was also on hand at the finish line, providing refreshments and food to keep hikers going after they crossed the line.
