Cornwall Air Ambulance Scores Double Win at National Awards

Cornwall Air Ambulance has celebrated a major success after picking up two honours at the Air Ambulances UK Awards of Excellence 2025.

The annual event recognises the achievements and expertise of those delivering specialist lifesaving work across the air ambulance sector. This year, the charity took home Campaign of the Year for Sing it Home and Charity Team of the Year for the Heli2 Appeal team.

Sing it Home Takes Campaign of the Year

The Sing it Home campaign was created to help raise £2.85 million towards a second helicopter. More than 500 musicians from across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly came together to produce a professional album that captured attention nationwide.

Its headline single reached number 11 in the official UK charts over Christmas, outperforming global artists, and the campaign generated more than 309,000 video views along with widespread national coverage. The success of Sing it Home played a key part in hitting the fundraising target.

Jon Michael, Head of Marketing and Communications at Cornwall Air Ambulance, said: “We were delighted to be recognised by Air Ambulance UK once again at their annual national awards ceremony. I would like to thank our amazing Cornwall Air Ambulance Team for working so hard, ensuring that our campaigns continue to hit the mark, but also to our amazing supporters who get behind them and support us so faithfully. It’s great to keep Cornwall on the map by winning these national awards.”

Heli2 Appeal Team Named Charity Team of the Year

Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust’s 10 person fundraising team was praised for delivering standout results despite a challenging fundraising climate. Alongside maintaining £8 million in annual income, the team secured an extra £2.85 million to fund a second helicopter.

Their work included a rebranded lottery, a £2.7 million rise in legacy income and 93 trust awards totalling £439,000. The team’s efforts have strengthened the future of lifesaving care in Cornwall.

Karen Hurn, Head of Fundraising and Philanthropy, said: “We’re so pleased to be winners. These campaigns we work on do more than raise awareness, they generate essential funds that directly support our operations. The generosity we receive throughout the year has been instrumental in expanding our service, including the recent arrival of our second AW169 helicopter. With a target of nearly £9 million to raise next year, public support is absolutely critical. Every view, every share, every donation makes a difference.”

The awards were announced on 3rd December at the Telford International Conference Centre.
