Cornwall Airport Newquay’s June Passenger Figures Revealed
Cornwall spent June under a heatwave, with temperatures at Cornwall Airport Newquay climbing as high as 32°C. Holiday weather right on the doorstep, then. And yet 46,589 passengers still made their way through the terminal, plenty of them heading off to somewhere that, this month at least, turned out to be an unexpected rival for the sunshine.

A busy month on the ground and in the air
The airport welcomed 46,589 passengers through its terminal across June, with the mercury reaching a high of 32°C.
Clear skies for much of the month kept the runway busy too. Air traffic movements totalled 1,723 through June, and the airport thanked #TeamNQY for keeping standards high while working through the heat.
The sunny escape nobody saw coming
Cornwall Airport Newquay named Edinburgh its destination of the month for June. Load factors on the route hit 90%, with Ryanair running the direct service throughout the summer.
The bigger surprise was the weather. Edinburgh reached highs of 28.7°C during the month, not far off Newquay’s own peak, which left the airport wondering whether any passenger had thought to pack an umbrella “just in case.”
