Cornwall Airport Newquay’s October, from Manchester to space
Most of the planes leaving Newquay last month were heading somewhere familiar. Manchester, mostly, and very full. But over on the far side of the airfield, the talk was of flights that go a great deal higher.
Cornwall Airport Newquay has shared its figures for October. They show 31,483 passengers went through its departure lounge during the month. There were also 1,314 air traffic movements at the airport over the same period.

Manchester flights nearly full
The Manchester route ran at an 86% load factor in October. The airport put that down to people going away on autumn city breaks.
The route isn’t only for autumn, though. Loganair flies it all year, with frequent flights through the winter and onward connections to Aberdeen and the Isle of Man.
A spaceflight agreement for Spaceport Cornwall
October also brought news from the other side of the aerodrome. Spaceport Cornwall signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dawn Aerospace to explore bringing reusable suborbital spaceflight to Cornwall.
The airport called the agreement a step towards making Newquay a year-round location for future air and space activity. That covers horizontal launch and suborbital flight, along with technology testing, research, payload return and other emerging aerospace capabilities.
The airport says more updates will follow on its social media channels.
Tenerife charter flights in March 2027
Tenerife is the airport’s destination of the month. MT Holidays is running a new charter there from Newquay.
Travellers can choose a package holiday or book just the flight and explore the island their own way. Bookings are being taken direct through MT Holidays.
Departures are on Friday 5 March and Friday 12 March 2027.
