London Flights Return to Newquay This Summer
Flights between Cornwall Airport Newquay and London Gatwick are set to resume this summer, with easyJet confirming a new twice-weekly service on the route.
The first flight will take off on Tuesday, 23rd June, with services running on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
New Route for Busy Summer Season
Cornwall Airport Newquay said the new route comes as demand for travel to Cornwall continues to grow, providing an affordable and convenient way for visitors to reach the region during one of its busiest times of year.
For those based in the South West, the service also offers the chance to reach London in just over an hour, as well as access onward connections across Europe and beyond.
Passengers can book flights via the easyJet website.
Boost for Connectivity and Tourism
The route is expected to strengthen direct domestic connectivity between Newquay and London, whether for trips to the capital, visiting friends and family, or continuing journeys further afield.
It also provides easier access for people in London and the South-East looking to explore Cornwall, supporting the region’s visitor economy during the peak summer season.

Following Previous Route Changes
The announcement follows confirmation that the previously subsidised flights between Newquay and Gatwick are set to be cancelled after no compliant bids were received during a tender process.
Local Reaction
Noah Law, Member of Parliament for St Austell and Newquay, said:
“I was delighted to meet with EasyJet last year to discuss the prospect of a route development at Newquay Airport. I’m pleased to see that discussions have progressed and that EasyJet will now be – in effect – picking up where the previous airline left off.
“I wish Newquay Airport every success in ensuring further, consistent, all-year-round route development, and I will continue to support them with this work.”
Cllr Tim Dwelly, Cornwall Council’s portfolio holder for economic regeneration and investment, said:
“I am really pleased to see these flights announced by easyJet for the peak summer season.
“Alongside the flights already in place to London Stansted, it shows we can support a variety of routes between Cornwall and the capital. This is really good news for the airport, and for Cornwall as a whole.”
Nigel Scott, Commercial Director at Cornwall Airport Newquay, said:
“We’re very pleased to welcome this new London Gatwick service with easyJet for the peak summer season.
“Demand for Cornwall continues to grow, particularly from the South-East, and this route provides an affordable and convenient way for visitors to access the region during one of our busiest periods.
“Building on the strong performance of easyJet’s Manchester route over the past two summers, this new service further strengthens our partnership.
“The Saturday service opens up new leisure connections via Gatwick, with opportunities to align with easyJet holidays, and we look forward to working together to maximise this potential.”
