Ryanair hits 2 million passenger mark at Cornwall Airport Newquay

A number a decade in the making has just landed at Cornwall Airport Newquay.

Ryanair announced on 21st July that it has now carried more than 2 million passengers through the airport since it started flying to and from Newquay ten years ago. The low-fares airline called the figure a marker of its investment in the region.

Six routes, 42 flights a week

This summer, Ryanair is running 42 weekly flights across six routes to and from Cornwall Airport Newquay. The mix pairs sunshine spots with city breaks, taking in Alicante, Faro and Malaga alongside Dublin, Edinburgh and London.

‘Continued investment and growth’

Jade Kirwan, Ryanair’s Director of Comms, said the airline was pleased to reach the figure since operations at Newquay began a decade ago.

“This significant milestone showcases Ryanair’s continued investment and growth in the region, delivering important low-fare connectivity, traffic, tourism, jobs, and economic growth,” Jade said.

She said the full Summer 2026 schedule was available to book now, with Newquay fares from as little as £29.99.

The airport’s side

Cornwall Airport Newquay’s Commercial Director, Nigel Scott, traced the achievement back to a partnership that started in 2016.

“Welcoming two million Ryanair passengers through Cornwall Airport Newquay is a significant milestone and reflects the strength of our long-standing partnership since operations began in 2016,” Nigel said.

He said the airport had seen demand keep growing over the past nine years, with Ryanair helping to improve connectivity for local communities and visitors alike.

The seat sale

To mark the milestone, Ryanair has launched a limited-time seat sale with fares from £29.99, which the airline says can be booked through the Ryanair app.
