Cornwall Reading Challenge ends this Saturday, last chance for prizes

There is a particular look a child gives a parent when a deadline has quietly come and gone without them. Cornwall Libraries has a photo of exactly that look, and a very good reason for sharing it with parents right now.

The Cornwall Reading Challenge ends this Saturday (12 September), and it is the last chance for this year’s Extraordinary Explorers to collect the rewards they have been working towards all summer. Once the deadline passes, that is it for another year, so the message from the library service is a simple one: get to your local branch before the doors close on Saturday.

What’s waiting at the finish line

Finishing the challenge earns children a medal keyring, stickers and a certificate, plus a voucher for a free Treasure Trail worth £10.99. It is a proper send-off for a summer of reading, and the kind of haul that makes the last-minute dash worth it.

Lost the booklet? Don’t panic

Misplaced the reading record somewhere between June and September? It does not need to end the challenge. Head to your local library anyway, and staff will make sure the rewards are sorted regardless.

Cornwall Libraries is asking parents to tag someone else who might need the reminder, because Saturday is the last day it counts.
