Community Support Helps West Cornwall Search and Rescue Team Raise £253 at Open Day
West Cornwall Search & Rescue Team hosted an Open Day last weekend, attracting a crowd of people of all ages interested in learning more about the team’s crucial work.
Fundraising Success
The event, held over the course of a day, managed to raise an impressive £253, thanks to the generosity of visitors. The funds will contribute to supporting the team’s ongoing efforts in providing vital search and rescue services across the region.
Team members volunteered their time to showcase their work and interact with the community, explaining the essential services they provide in often challenging conditions. Visitors had the opportunity to meet members of the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust and the RNLI, who also attended the event to support the cause.
Support Behind the Scenes
A special mention was made for the Support Team, a group of individuals who, while not all active in call-outs, dedicate their time to help organise fundraising events like this one. Their behind-the-scenes work is crucial to ensuring that West Cornwall Search & Rescue Team continues to operate effectively.
How You Can Still Help
Although the event has ended, it’s not too late to contribute. Donations are still being accepted to help support the work of the team. If you’d like to make a donation, you can do so through PayPal.
