Major Road Closed After Police Vehicle Involved in Collision

A serious collision on the A30 near Hayle left three people injured last night, Sunday 7th December.

Devon and Cornwall Police said they were notified just before 8pm after reports of a collision involving a police vehicle and two cars on the stretch of road between Roseworthy and Marsh Lane.

A number of people were treated by ambulance services and three men, including two police officers, were taken to hospital with serious injuries. Their families have been informed.

Road Closures Overnight

A full closure was put in place at St Erth roundabout and the Hayle bypass while emergency services worked at the scene. The road reopened this morning.

Referral Made to IOPC

Because a police vehicle was involved, a mandatory referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them via the Devon and Cornwall Police website or by calling 101 and quoting log 701.
