Dog unit joins drugs warrant in St Austell town centre

If you were driving through St Austell town centre last Friday and found the road busier with police vehicles than usual, this is why. Officers, backed by a dog unit, were carrying out a drugs warrant at an address in the town.

The houses in our photo are not the address where the warrant was carried out.

One man was arrested and has since been interviewed and released on bail.

What happened on Friday

The warrant was carried out on Friday 16 October by the St Austell Neighbourhood Team, working alongside the East Cornwall Neighbourhood Support Team and the local dog unit, St Austell Police said.

A man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and handling stolen goods. He was interviewed and has been bailed. He has not been charged.

Officers thanked road users and residents for their patience while the warrant was carried out.
