Police appeal after child bitten by dog in Portreath

Police have put out two photographs in the hope that someone will recognise the pair in them. Officers want to trace a man and a woman after a five-year-old child was bitten by a dog at Portreath, and the police are asking anyone who knows the couple to get in touch.

What happened

The child was bitten on the arm at around 9.45am on Saturday 18 July at the Waterfront Portreath bar and kitchen. The dog was unattended at the time. The five-year-old was left with bruising and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The dog’s owners left without giving their details

The owners of the dog left the scene without providing their details and are believed to be local to the Portreath and Camborne area. Officers would like to identify the man and woman shown in the photographs, as they may be able to help with enquiries.

We have identified two people in connection with a report of a child being bitten by a dog at the Waterfront Portreath bar and kitchen in Portreath.

It follows a photo appeal published by the force yesterday, 12 August.
