Police Speed Checks This Week: Find Out Where Officers Will Be Watching 8th to 14th December
Devon and Cornwall Police have set out the routes and towns where their road safety team will be carrying out speed checks over the coming week. The list covers major roads, rural stretches and busy town areas, with officers aiming to keep speeds down and roads safer as traffic builds in the run up to Christmas.
Monday 8th December
Speed detection officers will be in Bodmin, Launceston, Bude and Plymouth, along with patrols on the A38. Checks are also planned for Tiverton, Cullompton, the A3052 in East Devon and Paignton.
Tuesday 9th December
Launceston appears again on Tuesday’s schedule, alongside Dartmoor and the A386. Officers will also be monitoring drivers in East Devon and on the A30, as well as the A30 through West Devon. Torquay is also listed for checks.
Wednesday 10th December
The midweek focus shifts to Camborne, Truro and Bodmin. Exeter and Crediton are also on the list, covering a mix of urban and rural routes.
Thursday 11th December
Checks will take place in Redruth and Launceston, as well as on the A30 through West Devon. The A380 in South Devon is also included, along with Honiton.
Friday 12th December
Officers will be active in Penzance, Hayle and Liskeard. Monitoring will continue on the A38 and around South Hams. Brixham is also scheduled for checks before the weekend.
Saturday 13th December
Speed checks on Saturday concentrate on Dartmoor and continue along the A38 and A380 corridors in South Devon.
Sunday 14th December
The week rounds off with patrols in Plymouth, Saltash and Liskeard. Kingsbridge and Totnes are also listed for Sunday.
Police are urging drivers to stick to the speed limits and take extra care on the roads throughout the week.
