Rogue Roofers Are Targeting Cornwall and Costs Are Spiralling
You let someone up onto your roof for what sounds like a small, urgent repair. By the time the work is underway, the price has climbed far beyond anything that was mentioned at the door. That is the pattern Cornwall Council is now warning householders about.
The council’s Trading Standards team has seen a rise in reports of rogue roofers operating across Cornwall. According to the team, these traders often turn up claiming that urgent repairs are needed. Once the work begins, the costs escalate dramatically.

The advice from Trading Standards is simple. Do not feel pressured into making a quick decision, and always check a trader’s credentials before agreeing to any work.
