St Austell’s Natalie Haynes sentenced for breaching 2017 order

Nine years ago, a court in Plymouth set down two rules for a woman from St Austell. Stay out of other people’s properties unless the owner says yes. Don’t ask anyone for money or goods without a legitimate reason. This summer, she broke both.

A court order from 2017

Natalie Haynes, from St Austell, appeared at court last Thursday (17 September) to be sentenced for breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO), together with a separate theft and fraud offence, St Austell Police has shared.

The order was issued by Plymouth Magistrates’ Court in 2017. It barred her from entering the boundary of any residence without the owner’s consent, and from asking anyone for money or goods unless it was for a legitimate reason.

Two addresses in the town centre

Between late July and early August this year, Natalie went to two addresses in St Austell town centre without the permission of the people living there, and asked them for money.

No further detail has been given about the separate theft and fraud offence.

The sentence

Natalie was sentenced to 27 weeks’ imprisonment, suspended for 12 months.

The prison term does not start now. But according to local police, if she is convicted of any further offences during those 12 months, it may be activated.
