Wanted man found hiding in a Camborne garden storage box

Some hiding places are better than others. A man wanted by police in Camborne went for a garden storage box, which turned out to be the wrong call. His arrest was one of several results the local Camborne, Pool and Redruth Police team have shared from the past few days.

The box was not a great hiding place

The wanted man was found tucked inside a garden storage box and arrested on the spot. It was the sort of result that reads better than it must have felt from inside the box.

A driver who said he had not driven

A man arrived at Camborne Police Station drunk and told officers he had not driven there. The PCSOs were not convinced. They located his vehicle and stopped him as he tried to drive off. He was found to be three times over the drink drive limit and has been charged.

A run of arrests and seizures

Alongside that, the team shared a handful of other results from local police work around the town. A man causing anti-social behaviour in Camborne was given a Community Protection Notice. Another e-scooter was seized in the town. Two people were stop searched and drugs were found. And one person was arrested for public order offences, with an offensive weapon recovered.

The team was clear this is not the full list. In their words it is “not all of our week’s work, merely some of the stuff we can share,” adding that they can never put everything on social media. They signed off with a thank you to residents for their support.
